Len Ainsworth
is known throughout the world-wide gaming machine industry as having
pioneered many of the major design and technical innovations incorporated
in gaming machines for over 59 years.
He has long
been acknowledged as the industry leader throughout Australia and is
widely respected for the outstanding contribution he has made to it,
especially for the contribution poker machines have made to the financial
success and standing of licensed clubs. He founded the company which
became the highly successful "Aristocrat" and, despite severe international
competition, was responsible for building that company up to become
the second largest producer of casino style gaming machines and gaming
machine systems in the world today and by far the largest in Australia.
In 1994,
Len was inducted into the Australian gaming industry's "Gaming Hall
of Fame" and in 1995 he was inducted to the gaming industry's "American
Hall of Fame". These awards are the highest honours the world-wide gaming
industry bestows upon those who have made outstanding contributions
to its progress. At his 80th birthday
party, he was awarded life membership of AGMMA, now known as Gaming Technologies Association (GTA).
More recently in 2008, he was honoured with Life Membership of ClubsNSW the premier club body. Len pioneered international gaming markets in establishing in England, the United States, New Zealand and Africa.
Of the many
Ainsworth innovations the 5 reel revolution, the video slot maxi-liner and microprocessor
control of machines have changed the gaming world.
In a career
that encompasses many achievements over the past 57 years, a brief
list of highlights includes -
1953 Len
established Aristocrat Leisure and its forerunners;
1994 Len was inducted into the Australian Gaming Hall
of Fame by the Club Managers’ Association;
1995 Len was inducted into the US Gaming Hall of Fame
along with Donald Trump and Burton Cohen, Len is still the only Australian
to be honoured;
2002 Len was recognised for his extraordinary contribution
to Australian Exports and received the Australian Export Heroes Award;
2008 Len was recognised for his outstanding achievement in the industry upon receiving the prestigeous ClubsNSW Life Membership award;

Game Technology employs over 300 personnel and exports worldwide wherever gaming machines are licenced.
In November 2009, Len Ainsworth and Ainsworth Game Technology achieved Nevada licencing, the ultimate recognition of international acceptance.
